If you've spent years training in doors with standard weight training gear (barbells/dumbbells etc), you'll find kettlebells
a really refreshing change. As this can all be taken outdoors really easily. Grab a few kettlebell's and off you go. Wow,
even carrying the outdoors (farmers walk) could be counted as a warm up or part of your training session.
Personally I've done sessions in the back yard, at the local football field even outside at work on lunch times. They're
so easy to cart around with you, you could always have one in the boot of your car for an instant workout any time.
Why do you we workout with kettlebells? I train to improve my sports abilities and the kettlebell gives me an interesting
alternative to other methods of cardio as well as extra dimensions in my strength training that standard equipment doesn't
give. Also my goal is the development of functional strength that will help me perform better in everything from daily life
to sports.
Using a single kettlebll of your choice and standard the following routine can be done in a circuit fashion wherever you
are
(20) 1 Single Arm Swings (10 L & R)
(20) Single Arm Cleans (10 L & R)
(20) Military Presses (10 L & R)
(20) Hand to Hand Swings
(20) Single Arm Bent over Rows (L & R)
(10) Windmills (5 L & R)
Start with 60 second active rest between each set and decrease accordingly and try to repeat the whole circuit 2-4 times.
It should take you less than half an hour. Go light enough until you can handle the weight.
So if you don't own a kettlebell then GO BUY ONE! Get yourself outdoors and enjoy life and training!
